And A FREEBIE!

Hey Kinder Friends,
Just in time for Back to School comes the book Too Much Glue. You know I was excited to preview and read this book because I love glue and all things creative and messy. And this book sure is a cute one especially for this time of year when we are out and about shopping for glue and thinking about how to introduce the good old glue expectations for kindergarten.

After reading the Amazon review of this book it kind of got that inner art teacher in me going! And here is what Amazon says:
Although Matty’s art teacher has warned him that too much glue never dries, Matty loves glue. After all, he and his dad make oodles of glue projects at home. One day during art class, Matty finds the fullest bottles of glue, and the fun begins. With a squeeze and a plop, Matty pours a lake of glue before belly-flopping right in the middle and finds himself stuck to the desk. When Matty’s dad arrives at the school, instead of being mad, he celebrates his son’s creativity and calls him a work of art. With vibrant language and artwork and a wild, silly plot, Too Much Glue is sure to appeal to all children who love to get messy.
Not only will this book appeal to children but it will appeal to any teacher who actually understands that glue expectations have to be taught to young children. You get what I am getting at. I thought so. And I am so sure we all have some fun and lively glue stories to tell...oh my.
At my school we do glue...as in bottles. There is no point in asking for sticks because we won't get them so we just deal with it. I could either run around for silly glue sticks or I could just deal with it. I don't do sticks or germy glue sponges. I do bottles and move on with life. I have bigger fish to fry in the scope of life. I am good with it. So, naturally I love the fact that I now have a book to go with the "glue pep rally" that takes place in my class year after year. I created the page you see above so that I could print it on colored paper like red, yellow or green and the children use a hole puncher with black paper for the dots. One by one they glue on the black dots. And the reason I say red, yellow and green paper is because in some years you might just need to do the glue lesson about three times! So now you are thinking that you want this book, right? Ok, I get it. Here is the deal. Leave a comment about glue for a chance to win a copy of the book. Yep, it is that simple. You don't have to follow me here or there to enter. I figure your here now and that is all it takes. I will pick a random winner with RNG and let you know who wins the book. And if you need a copy of the page just click on the image and there you go. And last, thanks for stopping by my little part of the world.

I would love to have this book. We always say, "just a dot, not a lot" when we do activities with glue. I am debating trying the glue sponges I saw in Pinterest, but not sure on the up keep.

Glue is so much fun! The kids use "drippy" glue and stick glue. I love the dot practice page! Thanks for sharing!

I teach first and I can totally relate. I say "Just a dot, not a lot" about a bazillion times throughout the school year and there is always that one who never gets it. :) Maybe this book would help me out!

I teach kindergarten and use lots and lots of glue sticks. Can never get enough. Liquid glue is so messy but I've learned to live with it. The book would be a great introduction to working with "drippy" glue. Thanks for the chance to win.

Glue drives me crazy but it is necessary in our class so I just have to suck it up! Would love to have the book to read to my kiddos though!

I love your apple idea. I will definitely be using it. Thanks!

I love using glue with K4 class despite their zealous use of it....this book looks like a real winner. Thanks for the opportunity to receive a copy of it.

I love to color the white glue with my kindergarten students, then we make some art work using different colored glue instead of coloring with crayons. They love it.

I had just recently downloaded the practice sheets and saw the book in a post on Pinterest! What a perfect combination the two will be! Pick me! Pick me! I'm thinking I'll even be brave enough to go ahead and just use bottles this year in Kindergarten! Thank you for the opportunity to win a cute book!

We are back to using glue in bottles. We tried "O" glue & some kids never brought them in. They had a hard time finding them. Therefore, we are back to bottles. The picture book looks adorable. I hope to win !!!

Glue! I do art therapy with my students and glue has ended up on faces, all over the table and elsewhere - would love to have a copy of this book to share!

Oh in first grade, glue can be a nightmare! Bottles get squeezed out way too hard and boom..a giant mess! :)

I love using glue bottles but hate the mess it can create. Some kids seem to bath in it!!!! This book has peeked my interest!

Made me think of that phrase which I have used in doing the glue bottles in my room- "a little dab will do ya!" Look forward to the book- great idea!1

This is my third year teaching and my third grade level! I had never so much as observed in a Kindergarten classroom so when I realized that the glue sticks were dissappearing faster than candy in an open dish I knew something was wrong. Back-peddling I realized I had never taught my kiddos how to use glue and what my expectations were. I made a mental note that glue had to be added to my expectations list! I am very excited about teaching Kindergarten again this upcoming year...especially teaching how to use the glue!

I will have a combined PK/K this year & use glue with K but you convinced me even PK will be fine and I might as well teach them now because they'll be mine full-time the next year.

I am going to have to look for that book. Love it! Yes, glue can be a mess but sometimes glue sticks don't work.
